Re: West Ham v Werder Bremen Betway Cup 1-2
I think the preseason has been tough. Split squad to begin, games that matter more than usual.

It is a very different system but despite that I don't see players struggling that much more. The mediocre ones have looked mediocre and some of the decent ones have looked better at points Zarate and Noble for me. Collins might be one who has looked worse but it might be age.

The talk of leftover dross is a bit overdone I think. We have been a midtable side for 3 seasons with these players and unless people are thinking we are going to make dramatic jump from that, most are fine. We have generally made positive changes on the squad.

I also think our view of the youngsters is a bit skewed because they have played in games we have cared about and there have been more games this preseason (4 in 8 days last week). It is not like we have not had them playing in the preseason before. It is certainly one positive in what has been a bit of crazy situation.

It's going to take Bilic a while to offload the shit (that Allardyce bought) to integrate the youngsters (that Allardyce never did) and to get his own side playing his way, that's all gonna take time. He's also been unlucky walking straight into the EL.

I would say apart from Valencia being injured, our pre season has been decent. It's about game time and of the players available, they've all had decent minutes.

My Chelsea mate was moaning the other day that they're pre season has been shit and they're no where near ready.

Re: West Ham v Werder Bremen Betway Cup 1-2
Our pre-season has been a bit of a mess but at least some of the kids have had decent run-outs and Bilic seems to have sorted the chaff from the wheat players wise. New manager, injuries and EL have caused chaos.

Whereas the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal will hit the ground running next week in the chase for the title, I can't see us being fully prepared for a few games yet.

Bit of a fluke with their first goal, if you watch the flight of the ball, just bouncing as Adrian tried to get behind it.

Add that to the fluke Astra goals, looks like we're jinxed.

The goal was his fault obviously but as Dicks stated the lack of closing down/any kind of tackle on both goals was very disappointing.

Adrian was great last season he's agood premiership keeper.
Every player makes mistakes his was in a friendly today.im not saying he's beyond criticism but to single him out is fucking absurd. He's the last of our worries.

Just watched the highlights.... absolute stinker from Adrian... he's an ok keeper... nothing more... not great but does the job... he's no Parksey, Merv (74-76) or Ludo that's for sure... what was the attendance?? untolds of empty seats.... imagine that in the OS?
